Talking points

For managers and team leads.

- South Asian Heritage Month runs from 18 July to 17 August in the UK. - South Asia covers many countries, languages and faiths, so avoid generalising. - Let colleagues opt in to sharing personal or family stories.

Tone note

How to pitch it.

Invite rather than presume, and recognise that the dates are tied to Partition, which may be painful family history for some colleagues. Celebrate the diversity within South Asian communities rather than treating them as one group.
